Women who tech

by Sistertech on Jan 26th in Conferences

Please spread the word about this event, “The Women Who Tech“. Sistertech will be on call to provide remote support for the telesummit. I’m sure I’ll be working my wings off.

Psalm of the Day

by Sistertech on Jan 26th in Psalm of the Day

I’m up early today. I peeked at the Psalm last night and could hardly sleep thinking about verse 4: “They rise in the darkness as a light for the upright; they are gracious, merciful, and righteous.” I hope you all are happy today. May you conduct all your affairs with justice. No flame wars, no [...]

Broadband speeds down in US

by Sistertech on Jan 25th in Broadband, Internet

My friends at ReadWriteWeb speculate that it’s because of the recession. Could be. If so, that means the US economy is a lot worse than she thought. You’d have to be pretty desperate to scale down from broadband to dialup. Those NetZero commercials couldn’t be having that much effect, could they?

Psalm of the Day

by Sistertech on Jan 25th in Psalm of the Day

Today marks the conversion of Paul. He’s busy giving interviews today or I would invite him to do a guest post. Sistertech is not big on proselytising, she lets her work speak for The One In Charge. This means that my full time job is evangelizing. Some may see this as contradictory. It is not. [...]

Time Vampires

by Sistertech on Jan 25th in Food for the Soul

Sistertech would like to remind everyone that while there are time vampires out there, there is no cause for alarm or dismay. The time vampires don’t have a chance. Romans 8:38-39 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height [...]

Psalm of the Day

For Sunday, January 24 Psalm 19 1The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims his handiwork. 2Day to day pours [...]

Apple tablet

by Sistertech on Jan 25th in Computing, Tablet

Sistertech is keeping her head down on this one. The guys in the Public Communications Dept always get touchy about any changes in the text distribution chain of The Document. They’ve even got a Google alert for any mention of revisions on The Document or anything claiming to rival The Document. What caught my eye [...]

Psalm of the Day

by Sistertech on Jan 23rd in Psalm of the Day

If one of your favorite Christmas carols is “O Little Town of Bethlehem” thank Phillips Brooks, whom Sistertech remembers this day. He also was known for giving wonderful sermons. Sources suggest his sermons are well worth reading today. “Rejoice” is the them of the Psalm of the Day: Ps. 33:1-5, 20-21. So put a song [...]

Psalm of the Day

by Sistertech on Jan 22nd in Psalm of the Day

Ever have a client flat out lie about what you did or did not say? You need to memorize Psalm 116:10. 10I kept my faith, even when I said, ‘I am greatly afflicted’; 11I said in my consternation, ‘Everyone is a liar.’

Coding away

by Sistertech on Jan 21st in Programming

It’s been raining here. Cats and dogs rain; thunder and lightening. Perfect weather for coding. Sistertech loves coding. There’s the thrill of the hunt for the most elegant solution to some thorny error or some annoying computing task. But there is another reason. I could get in trouble for saying this.
